Cookie Policy

Effective from: 18 October 2026. Last updated: 27 October 2026.

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your phone or computer. It lets the website remember something about your visit, such as what is in your cart.

myskinmatters.in uses cookies. Some are needed for the shop to work. The rest are optional, and they stay off until you say yes. You can change your mind at any time.

This policy explains which cookies we use, what each type does and how to control them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy. The website is run by KIEVORA Private Limited, First Floor, G-79, Ashok Vihar Phase-1 Road, New Delhi 110052.

1. Cookies and Similar Technology, Explained

1.1 Cookies. Small text files stored by your browser. Each has a name, a value and a lifetime.

1.2 Session and persistent cookies. A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser. A persistent cookie stays for a fixed time, from minutes to months, unless you delete it sooner.

1.3 First-party and third-party cookies. A first-party cookie is set by myskinmatters.in. A third-party cookie is set by another company whose tool runs on our website, such as an analytics or advertising provider. That company can read its own cookie on other websites that use the same tool.

1.4 Pixels and tags. A pixel is a small piece of code on a page or in an email. It tells the provider that a page was viewed, a button was clicked or an email was opened. Pixels often work together with cookies.

1.5 Local storage. Your browser can also store small amounts of data for a website in “local storage” or “session storage”. We use it for the same purposes as cookies and treat it the same way.

1.6 In this policy, “cookies” means all of the above.

1.7 Personal data. Some cookies hold an identifier that can be linked to you or your device. Where a cookie involves personal data, our Privacy Policy applies to that data.

2. The Four Categories of Cookies We Use

CategoryWhat it doesWithout itYour choice
Strictly necessaryKeeps your cart, checkout, login and security working. Remembers your cookie choiceThe shop does not workAlways on
PreferencesRemembers choices that make the site easier to useYou may have to repeat a choice on each visitOff until you say yes
AnalyticsCounts visits and shows us which pages work and which do notWe learn less about what to fix. Nothing changes for youOff until you say yes
MarketingLets us show our advertisements to you on other platforms and measure whether they workedYou still see advertisements online, but ours will be less relevant to youOff until you say yes

2.1 Our basis for using them. Strictly necessary cookies are used because you asked for a service, such as adding a product to your cart, that cannot be delivered without them. All other cookies are used only with your consent, which you give through the cookie banner or the cookie settings panel.

2.2 The tables in sections 3 to 6 list the cookies in each category.

3. Strictly Necessary Cookies

3.1 These cookies are needed for the shop to function. They cannot be switched off in our cookie settings. You can block them in your browser, but the cart and checkout will then stop working.

The website runs on WordPress and WooCommerce. These are the strictly necessary cookies it uses:

4. Preference Cookies

4.1 Preference cookies remember choices you make so that you do not have to repeat them. We do not use any preference cookies at present. If we add one, it will be listed here and will stay off until you allow it.

5. Analytics Cookies

5.1 These cookies tell us where visits come from. We look at the results in aggregate, meaning as totals, not person by person.

5.2 WooCommerce, our store software, sets the session cookies below to record the source of a visit. They are set on your first visit and are deleted when you close your browser.

CookieSet byWhat it doesTypical lifetime
sbjs_first, sbjs_current, sbjs_first_add, sbjs_current_add, sbjs_udata, sbjs_migrationsmyskinmatters.in (WooCommerce order attribution)Records where your visit came from, such as a search engine or a link, so an order can be matched to its sourceSession
sbjs_sessionmyskinmatters.in (WooCommerce order attribution)Groups the pages you view into one visit30 minutes

5.3 We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages work. It only sets cookies if you allow analytics in the cookie banner. Until then it runs in a cookieless mode that sends no identifiers. It is set to measure the shop: product views, items added to cart, checkout started and completed orders.

CookieSet byWhat it doesTypical lifetime
_gaGoogle Analytics (Google LLC)Tells one visitor apart from another with a random number, so visits can be counted2 years
_ga_HTGQE8PCYLGoogle Analytics (Google LLC)Keeps track of the current visit and how many visits there have been2 years

5.4 We do not use session-recording or heat-map tools. If we add one, it will be listed here and will stay off until you allow it.

6. Marketing Cookies

6.1 Marketing cookies (shown as “Advertisement” in the cookie banner) let us measure our advertisements on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google, and show them to people who are likely to be interested. Nothing in this section runs until you allow this category. If you reject it or never choose, no advertising cookies are set and no events about your visit are sent to Meta or Google.

6.2 The tools we use:

  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd and Meta Platforms, Inc.). Code on our pages that tells Meta when you view a page or the product, add it to your cart, start checkout, add payment details, place an order, send us a form, tap the WhatsApp button, search, or finish the skin quiz. For the quiz, only the skin type shown to you is sent, not your answers.
  • Meta Conversions API. Our server sends Meta the same events directly, so they are still counted if a browser blocks the Pixel. Each event carries one shared ID, so Meta counts it once. With each event we send your IP address, your browser details and the values of the Meta cookies listed below.
  • Google Ads conversion tracking with enhanced conversions (Google LLC). Tells Google Ads when an order is placed, with the order value and order number, so we can see which advertisements led to a sale.

6.3 Hashed contact data. When you place an order and have allowed marketing cookies, we also send your email address, mobile number and name in hashed form. Meta also receives your city, state, PIN code and country in hashed form. Google receives your PIN code and country. Hashing (SHA-256) turns each detail into a fixed code before it leaves our website, and the code cannot practically be turned back into your details. Meta and Google compare it with codes made the same way from their own users’ details, to tell us how many sales came from our advertisements. We never send your street address, order notes or payment details.

6.4 The marketing cookies:

CookieSet byWhat it doesTypical lifetime
_fbpMeta Pixel (Meta)Tells one browser apart from another with a random number, so Meta can link visits to our advertisements3 months
_fbcMeta Pixel (Meta)Stores the click ID when you arrive from a Meta advertisement, so the visit can be linked to that advertisement3 months
_gcl_auGoogle Ads (Google)Conversion linker. Lets Google Ads measure which advertisements led to visits and orders3 months
_gcl_awGoogle Ads (Google)Stores the click ID when you arrive from a Google advertisement, so an order can be linked to that advertisement3 months

6.5 Meta and Google use this data under their own terms and privacy policies: the Meta Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy. You can also control advertising in your own Meta and Google account settings, as explained in section 8.4.

6.6 We do not direct targeted advertising at anyone under 18.

7. How to Manage Your Choices on This Website

7.1 The first time you visit. A banner asks for your choice. You can:

  • Accept all: allow preference, analytics and marketing cookies;
  • Reject all: allow only strictly necessary cookies; or
  • Choose: switch each category on or off.

7.2 Preference and marketing cookies are not set until you allow them. The WooCommerce visit-source cookies in section 5 are session cookies that are set on your first visit. If you close the banner without choosing, we treat that as “Reject all”.

7.3 Changing your mind. Click “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page. You can switch a category on or off at any time. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

7.4 What happens when you switch a category off. We stop setting and reading cookies in that category from that point. Cookies already saved by a third party may stay on your device until they expire. You can delete them in your browser, as explained in section 8.

7.5 How long we remember your choice. For 12 months. After that, or if you clear your cookies, we ask again.

7.6 Each browser and device is separate. A choice made on your phone does not carry over to your laptop. Set it on each one.

7.7 Saying no costs you nothing. You can browse, order and get support with only strictly necessary cookies.

8. How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser

8.1 Your browser lets you see, block and delete cookies for any website. The setting is in a slightly different place in each browser.

BrowserWhere to find it
Google ChromeSettings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies, and Delete browsing data
Safari (iPhone, iPad, Mac)Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data on iPhone and iPad. Safari > Settings > Privacy on Mac
Mozilla FirefoxSettings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
Microsoft EdgeSettings > Cookies and site permissions, and Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data

Menu names change between browser versions. If yours looks different, search your browser’s help pages for “cookies”.

8.2 If you block all cookies. Strictly necessary cookies will also be blocked. Your cart will not hold items, you will not stay logged in and checkout may fail.

8.3 If you delete cookies. Your cookie choice on our website is deleted too, so the banner will ask again on your next visit.

8.4 Advertising settings on other platforms. You can also control advertising in your own account settings on platforms such as Google and Meta, and reset or limit the advertising ID in your phone’s privacy settings.

8.5 Emails. Our order emails do not contain tracking pixels. If that changes, we will say so here.

9. Changes to This Policy and How to Contact Us
