We are Skin Matters. A new Indian skincare brand, built on Korean skincare philosophy, made for Indian skin and climate.
We make one product: a gentle gel cleanser at pH 5.5. This page explains why we started there, what is in it, and who makes it.
Mild. Thoughtful. Effective.
Most of us were taught that a face wash has worked when skin feels tight and squeaky. That feeling is not cleanliness. It is your skin telling you it has lost more than dirt.
Your skin has a barrier: the outermost layer that keeps water in and irritants out. A harsh cleanser removes oil and sweat, and takes some of that barrier’s moisture with it. Then you spend the rest of your routine trying to put it back.
In India, this matters more. Heat, humidity, sweat, pollution and hard water mean many of us wash our face twice a day, sometimes more. A cleanser used that often has to be gentle enough to be used that often.

Korean skincare is known for a simple idea: be gentle, protect the barrier, and add hydration instead of taking it away. We agree with it. We also think it needs to be built for where you actually live.
A cleanser should clean. It should not leave your skin feeling like it lost a fight.
If a step in your routine weakens your skin barrier, the steps after it have to work harder.
Skin that holds on to its moisture feels calm and comfortable. We formulate for that feeling.
One thing to be clear about. The philosophy is Korean. The product is made in India, for Indian conditions. We do not import it, and we will never suggest otherwise.
Most new brands launch with a full shelf. We launched with a single tube.

So we started with the cleanser, and we are not in a hurry to add to it.
We started Skin Matters with one question. Why does clean have to feel tight?
We did not want to build a brand that shouts. We wanted to build one that explains. What is in the tube. Why it is there. What it will do, and what it will not.
So we made one cleanser and put everything about it in the open: the full ingredient list, the pH, the name and address of the factory that makes it. If we cannot show you something, we will not claim it.
We are new. We have a lot to prove, and we would rather prove it slowly than promise it loudly. If you try the cleanser, tell us what you think. The good and the bad. That is how the next thing gets built.

It does contain cleansing agents. Every cleanser does. That is how it cleans. Ours are mild, amino-acid, betaine and glucoside-based ones: Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside and Decyl Glucoside.
It does contain a preservative. A water-based product needs one to stay safe to use. Ours is Phenoxyethanol, and it is on the list below like everything else.
Aqua, Panthenol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Betaine, Sodium PCA, Ceramide NP, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside, Decyl Glucoside, PEG-150 Distearate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hydroxide, Tocopherol.
pH 5.5. Gel texture. 50 ml. Suitable for all skin types, including normal, combination, oily and acne-prone skin. As with any new product, patch test before full use.
Many skincare brands do not own a factory. Very few say so. We would rather you know.

We are a new brand. We do not have a long track record to point to yet. What we have is a formula we are willing to show you in full, and promises specific enough for you to check.
We will make more products. We will not tell you which ones, or when, because we have not earned that announcement yet.
What we can tell you is the rule we will follow. Nothing joins the range unless it meets the same standard as the cleanser: gentle, barrier-first, fully disclosed and fairly priced.
