Accessibility

A face cleanser is for everyone with a face. The website that sells it should be too.

We want every person to be able to read about the SKIN MATTERS Gentle Gel Cleanser, check its ingredients, place an order and get support, whether they use a mouse, a keyboard, a screen reader, voice control, screen magnification or a phone held in one hand.

We are not there yet on every page. This statement says what we are aiming for, what we have done, what still does not work, and how to get help today.

Statement date: 18 October 2026. Last reviewed: 18 October 2026.

The Standard We Are Aiming For

Our goal is for myskinmatters.in to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

WCAG is the international standard for accessible websites, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). It has three levels: A, AA and AAA. Level AA is the level most organisations work towards. It covers the barriers that affect the largest number of people.

The guidelines rest on four ideas. A site should be:

  • Perceivable. You can take in the content by sight, by sound or by touch. Images have text descriptions. Text has enough contrast.
  • Operable. You can use every feature with a keyboard alone, and nothing depends on precise or fast movement.
  • Understandable. Pages behave in a predictable way. Forms tell you clearly what went wrong and how to fix it.
  • Robust. The site works with assistive technology, such as screen readers, now and as that technology changes.

What this is, and what it is not

This is a goal we are working towards. It is not a certificate. myskinmatters.in has not been certified as conforming to WCAG 2.1 AA, and we do not claim that it fully conforms.

We also keep in view the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 and the Indian Standard on accessibility for digital products and services, IS 17802.

What We Have Done So Far

Seeing and reading

  • Body text and buttons use Dark Purple on white, or Dark Purple on Bright Yellow. Both pairings have a contrast ratio well above the 4.5:1 that Level AA asks for.
  • Text can be enlarged to 200% in your browser without content being cut off or overlapping.
  • Pages reflow to a single column on small screens, with no sideways scrolling.
  • Product images, icons that carry meaning and infographics have text descriptions.
  • Colour is never the only way information is shown. Errors, offers and stock status are also stated in words.

Moving around

  • Every link, button, menu and form field can be reached and used with a keyboard.
  • A visible focus outline shows where you are on the page.
  • A “Skip to main content” link is the first item on every page.
  • Headings follow a logical order, so screen reader users can jump between sections.
  • Tap targets on mobile are large enough to hit without zooming.

Forms and checkout

  • Every form field has a visible label that stays in place while you type.
  • Errors are described in text next to the field, and announced to screen readers.
  • You are not timed out while filling in your address or payment details.
  • You can review and correct your order before you pay.

Motion and media

  • Nothing on the site flashes.
  • Moving banners can be paused, and the site respects the “reduce motion” setting on your device.
  • Videos have captions.

Product information as text

The print on a 50 ml tube is small. So everything printed on the pack is also on the product page as real text, not as an image: the full ingredient list, how to use it, the cautions, the net quantity, the price, and the manufacturer and marketer details. A screen reader can read all of it, and you can enlarge it as much as you need.

Browsers and Assistive Technology

We design the site to work with the current versions of these combinations:

DeviceBrowserAssistive technology
Android phoneChromeTalkBack screen reader, system font scaling, Switch Access
iPhoneSafariVoiceOver screen reader, Dynamic Type, Voice Control
Windows computerChrome, Edge, FirefoxNVDA screen reader, Windows Magnifier, keyboard only
MacSafari, ChromeVoiceOver screen reader, Zoom, keyboard only

The site is built with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA. It needs JavaScript switched on for the cart and checkout to work.

Older browsers, and browsers with JavaScript switched off, may not show every feature. If that stops you from ordering, we will take your order another way. See “Get help placing an order” below.

What Does Not Work Well Yet

We would rather tell you than have you find out halfway through checkout.

WhatWhyWhat you can do instead
Payment pagesPayment is handled on pages provided by Cashfree Payments. We choose a partner with accessibility in mind, but we do not control how those pages are built.Ask us for an assisted order.
Order tracking pagesTracking is shown by our courier partners on their own pages.Ask support for a status update by email, phone or WhatsApp.
Customer reviews and photosPhotos uploaded by customers may not have text descriptions. The written review text is readable. Ask us if you want a photo described.
Social media embedsPosts embedded from other platforms follow those platforms’ own accessibility. The same information is given in text on the page.
Older PDFs, such as invoicesSome documents may not be tagged for screen readers.Ask us and we will send the content as plain text in an email.
LanguageThe site is in English only.Ask our support team which other languages they can help you in.

Some parts of the site come from our e-commerce platform, WordPress and WooCommerce. Where a barrier sits in the platform itself, we report it to the platform and offer you another way to do the same thing in the meantime.

If you hit a barrier that is not on this list, please tell us. That is how the list gets shorter.

Get Help Placing an Order

If anything on the site stops you from ordering, we will place the order with you.

  • Call or WhatsApp: +91-9310078182
  • Email: contact@myskinmatters.in
  • Hours: Mon–Sat, 10 am–6 pm IST

How an assisted order works

  1. Tell us you would like help placing an order. You do not need to explain why.
  2. We take your name, delivery address and phone number.
  3. We confirm the product, the price and the delivery time back to you before anything is charged.
  4. You pay by a payment link sent to your phone or email.
  5. You get the same order confirmation and tracking updates as any other order, by email.

What stays the same

  • The price. An assisted order costs exactly what the site shows, with the same offers and the same shipping terms.
  • Your privacy. We will never ask for your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or an OTP over a call or chat.

We can also

  • Read out or email the full ingredient list, directions and cautions.
  • Describe the product, the tube and the packaging.
  • Send any policy on this site as plain text.
  • Take a return, refund or grievance request by phone, so you do not have to use a form.

Report an Accessibility Barrier

If something on the site was hard or impossible to use, tell us. You can use the form, email contact@myskinmatters.in, or call +91-9310078182. Use whichever is easiest for you.

What helps us fix it

  • The page you were on. A link or the page name is enough.
  • What you were trying to do.
  • What happened instead.
  • The device and browser you were using.
  • Any assistive technology you were using, such as a screen reader or magnifier, if you are comfortable telling us.

You do not need all of these. “I could not get past the address form with my screen reader” is enough for us to start.

Barrier report form

Do you need help with an order right now?
How should we reply

We do not ask about your disability and you never need to tell us. Anything you do share is used only to fix the barrier and to help you, as set out in the Privacy Policy

When You Will Hear Back

  1. Acknowledgement — within 2 working days. We confirm we have your report and, if you asked for help with an order, we contact you first about that.
  2. Fix or workaround. We either fix the barrier, or give you another way to do what you were trying to do and a date by which we expect the fix.
  3. Follow-up. When the fix is live, we tell you, so you can check it works for you.

If a barrier sits in a third-party tool we do not control, we say so plainly, report it to that provider, and keep the workaround open for you.

If you are not satisfied

If you do not get a reply in the time above, or the reply does not solve the problem, you can escalate to our Grievance Officer at contact@myskinmatters.in. Grievances are acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within one month of receipt.

How We Keep Working on It

  1. New pages are checked before they go live. Keyboard access, headings, labels, contrast and image descriptions are on the pre-launch checklist for every new page and campaign.
  2. Reports from you go to the people who build the site. Every barrier report is logged and reviewed.
  3. We ask our partners. When we choose a payment, review, chat or tracking tool, its accessibility is one of the things we check.
  4. We review this statement whenever the site changes in a major way. Known limits are added when we find them and removed when they are fixed.

This statement applies to myskinmatters.in. It does not cover other websites we link to, marketplaces where the product may be listed, or social media platforms.
